A 5 km hike leading up Mt. St. Paul. Summit this mountain while enjoying panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. Keep an eye out for camouflaged rock ptarmigan.
In talking with Heather MaCrae who wrote hiking descriptions in this booklet, she described it as being nicknamed “The Stair Master”. True it’s name sake, this trail is nothing but up!! If you are hiking in June or early July, take your time, enjoy the tremendous views and don’t forget that it is light out until 11 pm!
Camping at Summit Lake offers easy access to the many trails described in this booklet as well as adventuring out on your own. Remember that although there is plenty of traffic on the Alaska Highway you need to be prepared for emergencies when outside the highway corridor.
