The trail leads northeast from the highway, staying close to the creek edge and crossing it several times. Hikers will find the trail is only visible in sections, because of the generally rocky terrain. The tail (worn mark in the ground) is only visible when it enters the trees or there is some ground cover.  Hikers can generally just pick their own route close to creek and following it up stream. Many small waterfalls, canyons, deep clear pools, and interesting rock formations can be discovered this way.

Difficulty: Moderate

Length: 5.5 km round trip to first viewpoint, 11 km to round trip to second view point.

See part of the trail in google street view here.

  • "Incredibly Beautiful"

This is my second summer spending a few days hiking between Summt Lake and Liard Hot Springs. Baba Canyon is yet another incredibly beautiful hike in the Northern Rockies. There are numerous falls and pools which would be a great refuge on a hot day. Take the time to hike not only this trail but all the others in the area- chances are you will see more animals than people.
