Flower Springs Trail

Flower Springs Trail

Flower Springs trail starts just behind the trail head kiosk off the radio tower road, where hikers will be able to follow a well worn path. The first kilometer of trail will take hikers across the lowland areas which is home to lots of wildflowers, especially in the spring.  The trail will then lead over a series of natural moraines left from retreating glaciers. Finish your hike at the Summit Lake or continue past to a second lake if you are still feeling energized.

Length: 13.6 km round trip lake edge route; 10.2 km round trip radio tower route

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

  • "Another Norhern Rockies Gem!"

This is my second summer spending a few days hiking between Summit Lake and Liard Hot Springs. The beauty found in this part of the Northern Rockies never stops.

Flower Springs trail is a moderately easy trail for a wide variety of abilities with only the distance being a factor. The wild flowers are at their best in June.

I have seen caribou every time I have hiked this trail. Don’t just stop at the lake, continue on and explore the two drainages that empty into the lake.

Like other trails in the area, you are more likely to see more wildlife than people!
