This pullout offers a great story, fantastic views and a memorial cairn.
Just off of the parking area you will find a cairn remembering all the surveyors of the Alaska Highway. Elevation, longitude and latitude of Allen’s Lookout are also denoted on this cairn. If you follow the trail from the cairn you will find a spectacular view of the Liard River. The view is so good, legend has it that bandits used this spot to scout river boats to plunder.
